Fire Captain Dave Cohen grew up in the area and after County Fire responded to a fire at his home, he knew immediately he wanted to become a firefighter. The path to the fire service looks different for everyone. For Captain Cohen, he wanted to gain some life experience first. After graduating college and starting EMT school, he became a volunteer firefighter with us before officially joining the ranks. Meet Firefighter Amanda Baum, who dreamed of being a stunt double as a child! Her prior careers included private sector sales and she was even a dispatcher with our very own Santa Clara County 9-1-1 Communications. It was there that she heard our firefighters on the other end of the line and wanted to challenge herself to pursue a career in firefighting. Through hard work and with the support of other firefighters, she made it and has been a tremendous addition to our team. Meet Firefighter Brandon Lam from our Seven Springs fire station in Cupertino.
